Rasa Jansone (LV, b. 1973) is a Latvian artist whose practice now spans over two decades. She is known for projects which reinterpret fundamental elements of art history through a feminist lens. Jansone’s works have been exhibited both in Latvia and abroad, and are included in the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Latvian Museum of Photography. In 2024, she earned a practice-based PhD from the Art Academy of Latvia, where she now teaches the history of contemporary art.

At Foto Tallinn, Jansone’s works are drawn from her most recent solo exhibitions at ALMA &: Your Foot on My Hand; Always, Raphael, and Jesus’ Little Sister. Created using her signature technique – combining painting in watercolour and oil with collaged photographic prints – Jansone reworks images from a wide range of sources, from Renaissance painting to glossy lifestyle magazines.
