Art fair Foto Tallinn 2019 is taking place from September 27th to 29thas part of the Kai Art Center’s opening events. The fair will present the latest works by over 30 Estonian and international artists, including photographs, video art, and spatial installations.
Foto Tallinn 2019 introduces artists, galleries and project spaces based in Estonia, Georgia, The Netherlands, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Singapore, Finland and Great Britain. In addition to 35 artists exhibited in the main display, the fair includes 4 artists as part of its special projects pop-up programme.

Fair participants were selected by an international jury comprising Bruno Barsanti (IT, freelance curator and producer), Evita Goze (LV/ISSP Gallery and Self Publish Riga), Karin Laansoo (EE/Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center and Outset Estonia), Kati Ilves (EE/Kumu Art Museum) and Niekolaas Johannes Lekkerkerk (NL/The Office for Curating and A Tale of a Tub).
Foto Tallinn is organised by the Estonian Union of Photography Artists and it is part of the main programme of the Tallinn Photomonth contemporary art biennial.
Foto Tallinn is supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Outset Estonia, Artproof and Estonian Contemporary Art Center.
Artproof Grant Estonia 2019 at Foto Tallinn
Artproof will sponsor the 5,000-euro production grant for one participating artist at Foto Tallinn.
All artists can apply for the grant and it is meant for the production of a new series to be presented at the fair. The funds may be used for printing, framing, and if necessary scanning of works, and similar expenditures, including custom solutions. Besides production of the series, Artproof guarantees the transport of works to the fair venue. The recipient of the Artproof Production Grant will also receive free participation as an exhibitor at the next fair. If the artist is represented at the fair by a gallery or project space, that gallery/project space will receive a 50% discount of the participation fee at the next fair.
The presentation of the series and the public announcement of the grant recipient will take place at the opening event on 26 September 2019.
